Beloved icon of Australian TV Noni Hazlehurst is selling off her magnificent rural estate on Queensland's Gold Coast.

The 69-year-old Better Homes and Gardens star has lived on the sprawling 4047 square metre Tamborine Mountain property for 20 years.

Featuring four-bedrooms and three-bathrooms, the classic two-storey country home will go under the hammer on December 16 reports Realestate.com.

According to the publication, the median price for a home in the Gold Coast hinterland is $950,000.

Located inland, 40kms from the Gold Coast, the Cape Cod-style home has a resort-atmosphere combined with Old World charm.

Hazlehurst, who rose to fame on Channel Nine's soap The Sullivans in the 1970s, has spent a lot of time and money on renovations.

These include a new staircase, expanding the ground floor living area and re-doing the kitchen and all of the bathrooms.

Hazlehurst told Realestate.com that after 20 years she was ready to move onto something smaller.

The property, known as The Gables, featured extensively on Better Homes and Gardens.

The fan favourite's career is best known for such dramas as City Homicide and A Place to Call Home.

She is also famous for presenting children's program Playschool from 1978 to 2001.
